Maritime Painter

I have always been an enthusiastic yachtsman. And I succeeded in turning my passion for boats into a professional career. I opened my private store in ship’s articles (chandlery). For thirty years I lived among yachtsman, boatman and their ships. After I sold my business, suddenly I had oceans of spare time inviting me to pursue my dream of becoming a painter.

Sea and skies

All my life I have been fascinated by the sea, yachts … and endless skies.

Sun and clouds inspire me. They form the vast décor of my paintings. A profuse sunset, the tranquil rising of the sun, the cool silvery light of the moon, dark threatening clouds with plenty of wind, wintery skies foreboding heavy snowfall, a brilliant blue summer sky with white cumulus.

For your and my enjoyment

All those skies? They are my subject when I paint. In the foreground yachts pose eagerly against a backdrop of romantic harbours, distant coastlines or friendly riverscapes. I hope you will enjoy looking at my paintings as much as I do myself.
